This is a bare wires bead probe which can measure air or surface temperatures. Most inexpensive thermocouples have a vinyl covering which can melt at around 200 C, this one uses a fiberglass braid so it can be used in high temperature measurements such as heaters and ovens. Great shirts for the price. I bought one blue, one pink. I guess it's the way of fashion now, though, but there aren't slits for collar strips to keep it straight, and most shirts I've seen are polyester with spandex. If you need spandex to wear a button down, you should get a larger size, please. Very comfortable, but the test will be Colorado summer with a with a white t underneath, but now very cool and airy.
